Agriwash exhibit biosecurity systems at Pig & Poultry Fair 2016

griwash showcased two biosecurity systems from their range, which are designed to protect from harmful disease transfer, at the British Pig and Poultry Fair 2016. The bi-annual show, which is the UK’s only dedicated pig and poultry industry event, took place at the NAEC on the 10th and 11th May 2016. Over 10,000 visitors were provided with a unique chance to gather valuable advice and ideas from industry experts, compare the latest, new products and equipment from over 350 exhibitors and network with other producers in an allied industry. The Rhino Agriwash Defender took centre stage on the Agriwash stand. It is a compact, high performance, drive-through vehicle disinfecting system that proactively tackles harmful diseases that can be transferred by vehicle tyres. The system has an entry sensor for automatic activation. A reliable and adjustable chemical dosing unit and pump are supplied to deliver the disinfectant through a combination of fan nozzles, on strategically positioned spray bars for a comprehensive coverage of the vehicle tyres. The side screens ensure that the fluid is captured within the robust platform, which is suitable for use by all road-going vehicles. A control panel is mounted on a 110 litre header tank which contains a head of clean water. The Defender is popular in agricultural applications as it only requires a single phase, 240v power supply and a mains water connection to be operational. It can be supplied with low profile ramps for surface-mounted installation, or be inset into a small excavation. Agriwash exhibited galvanised ramps which are available as an option. Also on display on the Agriwash stand was their newest edition to the biosecurity range; the Boot Cleaning and Disinfecting Station. Manufactured from moulded polyethylene and fitted with clean water and disinfectant delivery pipework, the station is supplied with three static brushes and one hand held brush for versatile boot cleaning. Users can clean first with water, then, if desired, switch to disinfecting mode with the flick of a switch. The portable unit simply requires a mains water feed and, if disinfecting is required, a small supply of disinfectant. The Boot Cleaning and Disinfecting station aims to reduce exposure to biosecurity issues by preventing the unwanted transfer of contaminants by foot traffic.
