• Bacton Wins Silver Award for FORS

10-03-2015

Bacton Transport has been awarded the Silver Level of the Fleet Operator Recognition Scheme (FORS) by TfL. FORS is owned and managed by Transport for London and aims to improve the quality of fleet activity in London and throughout the UK. The scheme is primarily directed at commercial fleet operators, including lgvs, vans and mini-buses as well as coaches. Stewart Galloway, Operations General Manager, said the company was very pleased with its progress towards safer and more efficient operations in the last year. He continued “The work being done by FORS is hugely important to promoting safer working in urban areas where there is an increased risk of incidents. I am sure our customers also value the investment we make in training our staff to be more aware of the potential risks when delivering in towns and cities.” Bacton Transport estimates 50% of all freight is delivered to urban addresses. The increase in internet shopping and home delivery has accelerated this trend in recent years with more and more businesses adopting a multi-channel approach to distribution.
