Depot Management System

Designed for a depot which is part of an overnight pallet or parcel network, the Vigo Depot Management System handles not only the traffic that is trunked to and from the hub, but also the depots own non-hub work as well. The system uses a postcode routing file to hold details of how the country is divided between the other depots in the network and the depots own ‘local’ area. Price scales hold the various inter-depot and Hub costs for each zone/area of the country in addition to the charges to be made to each of the depot’s customers. Hence the profitability of every job can be calculated automatically and a warning given if unfavourable. Links to multiple hubs are supported and the system can advise on the most effective route for a particular job. The main advantages of having all jobs within the one system are: - Jobs can be moved between trunk and local vehicles as the traffic profile changes throughout the day - The most effective delivery schedules can be achieved by adding non-hub jobs to a part-loaded local delivery vehicle
