Golden celebration for Trainload
09-12-2015
Trainload, the North Lincolnshire company that designs, manufactures, installs and commissions Wagon Haulage Systems and Shunters to move wagons and rail cars on private sidings for a wide variety of applications, including Refineries, Repair Workshops, Grain terminal, Coal Terminals, Wash Plants, and many other applications, is celebrating its fiftieth anniversary this year. Since their establishment in 1963, they have enjoyed an excellent track record in providing rail haulage solutions which meet their clients’ exact requirements.
The company commissions wagon haulage systems and shunters for a wide range of differing industries from oil refineries, through to petro-chemical industries and material handling depots. Trainload certainly has an excellent track record for delivery and commissioning the precise solution to meet their clients’ requirements. Though based in Lincolnshire, and with many local clients with whom they enjoy exceptional relationships, their solutions are supplied to leading companies throughout the world. Recent contract wins include the supply of an E55 Tracktronic shunter to Rio-Tinto in Blyth and work with Citech Energy Recovery Systems on a LUKoil project.
A great illustration of Trainload’s continued success and its strong relationships with their clients comes as they have also recently secured a £720,000 contract for a UK refinery. As well as installing a new wagon haulage system, they are also upgrading existing systems that they supplied in 1969. That these are still in use is testament to the extremely high standards in design and manufacture that Trainload have always strived to meet.
Haulage Systems from Trainload use an endless rope haulage system, driven in either direction by a winch unit, through a series of pulleys with the rope attached to either end of a Trolley (Mule) or Buffer Wagon. They can provide a complete haulage system tailored to a company’s requirements, complete with design, manufacture, installation, commissioning and training, or they will simply supply the haulage equipment required for installation by a company’s own engineers.
Meanwhile, a shunting system from Trainload ensures that maximum shunting force is provided in a system by optimising the weight, traction and torque where it is needed. A shunting system also combines manoeuvrability and versatility and can provide significant cost savings when compared to complex yard layouts and the running costs of locomotives. Shunting systems can pull or push up to 1200 tonnes on a straight and level track and can be controlled by a single operator or by remote control.
Fifty years on, Trainload are established as the leading specialists in international rail loading and continue to provide solutions to companies large and small.
