12/10/2012 Are you aware of the new driving licence changes regarding the towing of trailers?

From the 19th January, 2013, all newly qualified drivers need to pass a further test should they wish to tow heavy trailers. This change to licence category B will only apply to those who their test from this date. It means that drivers who pass a test to drive cars/small vehicles up to 3,500 kg will be restricted to towing; Light trailers up to 750kg Trailers in excess of 750kg where the combined rate of the towing car (or small vehicle) is not in excess of 3500kg. Towing heavy trailers requires an additional test.
