Transdek quality standards recognised with ISO 9001 renewal

05-11-2013

Transdek UK, the loading and lifting equipment innovator, has secured ISO 9001 accreditation for a second consecutive year, providing customers with independent verification of the company’s quality management standards. ISO 9001 is an internationally recognised standard for the quality management of businesses. It applies to the processes that create and control the products and services an organisation supplies, and prescribes a systematic control of activities to ensure that the needs and expectations of customers are met. Maintaining the ISO 9001 accreditation illustrates that Transdek operate to these quality management standards and includes processes for continual improvement. The audit at Transdek was conducted by ISOQAR, part of the Alcumus Group, which was established in 1991 as one of the first independent certification bodies in the UK. Commenting on the accreditation, Mark Wemyss, Lead Auditor at ISOQAR, said: “A thorough audit was made and Transdek proved it has a well established quality management system.” Nikki Samme, Director of Group Marketing for the Alcumus Group, commented: “A key factor in Transdek’s commitment to its customers is the pursuit of excellence: to design and produce products to the highest standard of quality. Maintaining certification to ISO 9001 shows Transdek’s commitment to continual improvement, helping to ensure that they are continually responding and meeting the ever-changing needs of their customers.” At Transdek, quality has always been a key driver in the design and production of its range of modular hydraulic lifts to service double deck trailers, which are manufactured in Britain at the company’s site near Doncaster. Transdek demonstrated that their processes ensure that the award winning lifts can be installed in one or two days to minimise onsite disruption. Leon Butler, General Manager at Transdek UK, said: “Maintaining our ISO 9001 accreditation following a thorough independent assessment is another reassurance for our customers that we continue to operate all aspects of the business to the latest quality management standards. “It demonstrates that we have an effective management system that satisfies the rigours of an external audit and clearly shows our continued commitment to quality and an undertaking to work towards improving efficiency.” Earlier in 2013, Transdek was also named a safecontractor approved company for the fourth year running, demonstrating its continued commitment to achieving excellence in health and safety. This involved auditors examining Transdek’s health and safety procedures and its track record for safe working practice, which was classified as exemplary.
