MAHA company restaurant is one of the best in Germany

Ministry of Agriculture and Focus reissue MAHA canteen. In particular, the healthy, local food, freshly prepared daily by the kitchen team in Haldenwang, was highlighted.

And if we succeed in making all the employees, from the worker to the top manager, happy in the short lunch break, then we have done everything right ". This is how Romeo Hofer sees his role as chef de cuisine in the MAHA company restaurant. And he and his team are clearly succeeding in this, as the 64-year-old has already been repeatedly confirmed by the official side: In 2017, he and his kitchen team won the "Catering Catering Manager of the Year 2017" award in the category "company catering" Space.
And recently, the news magazine Focus added the MAHA company restaurant to the list of the 50 best company restaurants in Germany. An expert jury had this in a large canteen test in the context of the initiative "Food & Health e. V. "determined. The Allgäu kitchen team is in the best of company, namely among the most renowned company restaurants of large corporations such as Adidas, Deutsche Bank, Lufthansa and Google. "A great success that makes us incredibly proud," says Romeo Hofer.
There was also an award by the Bavarian State Ministry of Food, Agriculture and Forestry for the improvement of catering for employees. This was preceded by coaching on the subject of "nutritional value and added value", in which only the MAHA team from the Allgäu participated. The focus here was on the question of how health, regionality, ecology and appreciation can be integrated into everyday kitchen life. In particular, it was discussed how the health aspect is more involved in the selection of dishes, which can be optimized in the course of the preparation and how the manual contribution can be further improved.
MAHA freshly cooked every day
Chef Hofer is important in addition to fresh food preparation and the most economical way of dealing with food: "We are one of very few company restaurants in Bavaria, which arranges its food on plates and thus serves the guests directly to take away. As a result, far less food is thrown away. "The management also agreed to supply leftover food to the" Tafel "(heat room) in Memmingen.
Variety is good
Changing dishes with seasonal consideration, such as asparagus, fish or pasta theme weeks, offer a welcome change to the staff at MAHA. The fact that the creative food is well received by the workforce is proven by an e-mail that the chef recently received from a colleague. It says: "The dishes on offer have always been very good, but the new dishes on the menu, especially the" Little Hunger ", are outstanding. Thank you that there is no uniformity in us, but refined and visually appealing dishes and you will not tire of constantly expanding the offer ".
"We will continue to orientate ourselves to the wishes of our guests, always following the motto: where it is very possible is not enough," says Romeo Hofer. He, his deputy Maximilian Rabus and the entire kitchen team will continue to work with great care to change and renew the food on a high quality level.
