Ahead of the Game - 1st August 2014

22-03-2015

***James Kemball are pleased to announce that all their current driving force have now logged the required number of hours under the new Driver CPC Scheme.*** The scheme is designed to improve standards within the vocational driver sector, and 35 hours classroom training per driver is compulsory from Sept 10th this year. Any drivers who haven't logged the required number of hours by this date will be breaking the law if they attempt to drive, and both they and the company risk heavy penalties. It is likely that a driver stopped at the roadside after this date without his DCPC card, will be prohibited from completing his journey, potentially leaving customers' goods stranded. James Kemball recognised the importance of managing this training programme and decided to undertake the training internally. We became an accredited training centre, and Nick Coker - our driver trainer - is an approved DCPC instructor. Nick has been very busy carrying out training sessions for both our own driving staff and paying customers. Latest figures indicate that there are around 800,000 UK based drivers still to complete the required training modules.
