The government has announced plans to bring the ban on the sale of new diesel and petrol vehicles forward to 2035. What’s more, hybrid cars have now been included in the ban for the first time. However, transport secretary Grant Shapps told BBC radio earlier this month that it’s possible the ban could be introduced even sooner, in 2032, depending on the outcome of the consultation it launched into bringing the date forward.
