The company’s principle activities are: Remanufacturing, Technical Services, Parts Procurement and Distribution. Customer sectors include automotive, PSV, rail, off-highway and defence industries as well as speciality manufacturing, with a strong emphasis on remanufacturing and refurbishment to OE specification. The main products available are diesel fuel injection parts including common rail pumps and injectors, rotating electrics, turbochargers, generators, electronics, auto electrical assemblies, military field support equipment, HVAC (heating and air conditioning) systems and electronic air braking systems. Major investment in recent years at Coventry, Ollerton and Birmingham place Carwood at the leading edge of diesel parts and systems remanufacturing, diagnostics and service. In Birmingham, with a total production platform of over 20,000 square feet, OE test equipment approved by the leading system makers, factory trained technicians, and a Class 7 Clean Room (ISO14644), it is not surprising that Carwood is a diesel centre approved by Bosch, Delphi, Denso, Stanadyne and VDO (Siemens/Continental). Our facilities house the very latest diesel injector and pump calibration equipment programmed to the most up to date test plan data, providing the capability to meet the stringent demands of OE and aftermarket customers in terms of both volume and quality. Turbochargers for car, van, truck, plant and military applications are remanufactured for OE and aftermarket customers at the Carwood Ollerton (near Nottingham) factory. This facility has been extensively redeveloped for state of the art processes and has the latest cleaning, preparation and testing equipment available. Carwood work very closely with the major O.E. component makers in our specialist sectors, providing sales, distribution, service and warranty for both O.E. and aftermarket sales. As a result of demand for our in-house parts ranges and distributorships for other major automotive parts manufacturers such as Bosch and Delphi, Carwood has developed a professional team of parts procurement and distribution staff. This team has an extensive supply base and can source virtually any part for any vehicle or diesel engine based equipment, often when normal supply channels cannot fulfil the requirement.
