ECO WHEEL

Alongside its ‘Highly Polished’ version of the ECO Wheel, BPW also offers the ‘Brilliant’, which is distinguished by its fine brushing process giving it an almost polished appearance. It’s a low maintenance wheel that doesn’t require polishing. BPW’s ECO Wheel has numerous functional advantages, one being that it is up to 50% lighter than a standard steel wheel. For a tri-axle semi-trailer that means a difference of around 120 kilograms. Lightweight it may be, but ECO Wheel is extremely robust and durable. The basis for this is special forging alloy and high-precision production. The specially developed aluminium alloys and their natural resistance to corrosion means that surfaces are easy to clean and retain their distinctive high-quality visual effect. Like all BPW products, ECO Wheel has been manufactured to the highest quality levels which is supported with a 5-year unlimited mileage warranty. It has been tested by the German Technical Control Board (TÜV) and approved by the Federal Motor Transport Authority (KBA) for all wheel sizes. With an outstanding wheel load of 5 t with 120 mm offset, ECO Wheel offers a longer service life when compared to a 4.5 t standard wheel. Next year BPW is introducing a further version - ‘Pearlescent’. The ‘Pearlescent’ surface finish is particularly hard wearing since it has special dust and dirt-repellent properties as a result of the specially developed surface structure. ECO Wheel, which is available in all standard wheel sizes, has been developed in collaboration with the traditional forging company Otto Fuchs AG in Meinerzhagen, which made a name for itself in the 60s with its legendary Porsche winged wheel.
