ACCON UK have been appointed to Defra Technical Support Contract

ACCON UK Ltd are delighted to announce that we have been awarded the Defra Noise and Statutory Nuisance Ad-hoc Technical Support Contract. ACCON’s team will be supported by our sub-consultants, who are all technical experts drawn from our network of contacts across academia and industry. 

The appointment lasts for four years with possible extensions for a further three years. Defra’s Noise & Statutory Nuisance team is responsible for implementing the Government’s policy on noise, artificial light and other sources of potential statutory nuisance.  ACCON’s project team, supported by our network of experts, are able to provide high quality specialist technical input covering all environmental topics and policy areas that Defra expect may be required under the contract.

ACCON’s Managing Director Graham Parry said “I am really pleased that ACCON have been awarded this important role supporting Government policy and we very much look forward to working with Defra’s team”.

The range of topics covered by the contract includes all types of transportation noise, industrial noise and noise from renewable energy sources, construction noise, entertainment noise, environmental vibration, soundscapes, neighbour noise and sound insulation. Other potential sources of nuisance include odour, fumes, gases, artificial light, insects and animals. Additional policy areas that may require inputs under the contract include climate change and net zero, and biodiversity net gain.
