Load restraint on road vehicles

This course has been developed to enable transport supervisors and drivers to develop a basic understanding of load restraint on road vehicles and to identify areas where current loading practices do not comply with current legislation. It explains and illustrates the fundamental concepts of load restraint - indirect restraint by friction and direct restraint by containing, blocking and lashing. The many widely misunderstood aspects of load restraint, involving the role of friction and the consequences of incorrect lashing angles are identified and explained.
