CRANE SERVICE FACILITY CASE STUDY

24-04-2019

The Project Premier Pits was appointed to manufacture and install a specialised pit to take loadings of up to 20 tonne for specialised lifting equipment. The Problem The end user required a vehicle inspection pit for high axel loadings and specialised lifting equipment. During the design phase, it was established the high axel load on their new cranes would impact the pit walls. We worked closely with the clients engineer and engineered the pit to take the axel loading whilst being able to keep in budget. Solution Premier Pits designed the reinforcing so that it was only required in the necessary sections so that the client wasn’t faced with a variation and reinforcing wasn’t required on the base and sides of the pit. Outcome The client got the pit for the original price and on time. The project team worked hard to reduce the site time so that the garage could operate on the opening date.
