What’s the best adhesive for sticking to wood?

30-11-2022

Wood isn’t always the easiest substrate to adhere to, some types have a smooth finish making it difficult for the adhesive to purchase. All of the VELCRO® Brand adhesives will stick to wood, the adhesive we would usually recommend is the rubber based PS14. If you require a semi-permanent fixing we would recommend using the Heavy-Duty tape, which is also a rubber based adhesive but has a much thicker layer of adhesive applied to the back of the tape. The Heavy-Duty hook and loop connection is far stronger than the standard hook and loop connection, which should be considered before buying as although the strength is a positive it does depend on your application whether this super strong tape is suitable. MPD TIP: If you’re looking for an especially strong secure adhesion we would recommend using staples for extra mechanical grip.
