Lovely Lesley’s Leaving ‘Do’

To mark her lengthy Driver Hire career, Simon French, the Milton Keynes franchisee, arranged for Lesley to be driven into the retirement sunset in the cab of a 44-tonne artic belonging to one of his major clients. To add a more traditional line to Lesley’s retirement celebrations, she was also presented with flowers, champagne and a £100 M&S shopping voucher. “Lesley was here when I took over the franchise, eight years ago,” says Simon. “Her knowledge and experience of the local area and running the office smoothly, particularly when I was a new franchisee, was invaluable. We’re going to miss her in so many ways.” Lesley’s certainly not going to be putting her feet up completely; one of the main reasons behind her retirement is to enable her to spend more time looking after her grandchildren.
