TEBSCheck - Trailer EBS Checker Commercial Vehicle Diagnostics equipment provider aide automotive has launched TEBSCheck, a new product designed to help fleets keep compliant with trailer EBS, for Haldex, Wabco and Knorr-Bremse applications. TEBSCheck is permanently fitted to the trailer, and indicates if the ABS/EBS CAN line communications are OK or at Fault easily at a glance; with its easy-to-read display, drivers cannot go wrong! TEBSCheck automatically works when the connected trailer is powered by the truck ignition. It will display a green light if all is well, and a red light if there’s a fault with the braking system, including CAN communication lines. TEBSCheck measures the voltages on all power lines and awaiting a ‘handshake’ between the trailer ECU and tractor unit, to confirm CAN lines are working OK. Both earth pins are also tested, and if there is an issue the TEBSCheck will light an illumination RED. If TEBSCheck identifies a fault (RED), after displaying a red light for four seconds the TEBSCheck will also identify the location of the fault, flashing a code which tells the driver or engineer which Pin has occurred a fault. The light intensity can also be adjusted, so that anyone in the yard – the driver/operator, security staff or others – will easily spot the green or red glow emitting from between the truck and trailer. Advantages of the TEBSCheck include reduced risk of points under DVSA’s operator compliance risk score (OCRS) system, and reduced risk of an accident or trailer rollover, since EBS roll stability will not work if there is a fault in the system. Vehicle maintenance time and costs are also reduced. The kit is easy to install and simple to read, offering a low-price solution for all levels of truck and trailer users. It has multi-voltage functionality, automatically detecting 12V or 24V configurations. The system is packaged with a new screwed terminal socket and pre-drilled bracket, and can be retrofitted in minutes.
