MOT Decelerometer Brake Tester

BrakeCheck is a portable battery powered MOT Brake Tester that can be used as back up to a MOT Roller Brake Tester. An MOT Brake Tester like BrakeCheck is a statutory annual MOT brake performance tester and is VOSA approved for all classes of road-going vehicles of Class I, II, III, IV, V, VI & VII vehicles in accordance with the Motor Vehicle (Tests) Regulations 1981, as amended. It is by a legal requirement for all MOT garages to have a back up to the roller brake tester and to have facility to test brakes of vehicles that cannot be tested on the roller brake tester. Such vehicles are 4 wheeled drives and vehicles with low suspension, these require a decelerometer such as BrakeCheck. BrakeCheck is required to have a re calibration check every 24 months, this is completed and returned to the customer’s MOT garage usually within 48-72 hours. BrakeCheck replaces the old traditional mechanical decelerometer such as Tapley Brake Meter. Being electronic there is a much higher accuracy and ease of use, additional information such as average deceleration, a left/right pull measurement, speed at braking and stopping distance offer the user a better guide to the brake test. All tests are time and date stamped.
